Harry Potter Studios to Host Great Hall Christmas Dinner

Posted on September 29, 2016 by

It’s hard to read (or watch) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and not dream of standing alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they enter the gorgeously decorated Great Hall, complete with enchanted candles, golden goblets, and a ceiling “dotted with stars…”

Well this year, that dream could become a reality. The Harry Potter studio in London is hosting a Dinner at the Great Hall event on December 7 and 8, welcoming Muggles to celebrate the season as Harry and his classmates did.

According to the studio, guests “will be greeted on arrival with welcome drinks and canapés before stepping through the doors of the wizarding school into the Great Hall, which will be completely transformed for Christmas.” Guests will be given a wand of their choice upon sitting down at tables of 10-12 people to enjoy a replica Hogwarts feast, including Christmas puddings, ham hock and broad bean terrine, and roast turkey. Sounds like a dream come true, right?

And the best part is that all of the original props and sets from the films will be used, including the Christmas tree baubles, the Great Hall film set, the Gryffindor common room, and more. After dinner, Muggles are free to explore the studio’s various sets, taste Butterbeer, and end the evening with music and dancing.

Tickets go on sale October 6 for £240 per person. Sharpen those reflexes, Muggles, because the event sold out at lighting speed last year.
