Posted on October 4, 2016 by

Imagine receiving a new book in the mail chosen specially for you each month, for free, for the rest of your life. Sounds like a dream, right? Well for one lucky reader, it’s about to be a reality. The Heywood Hill bookshop, located in Mayfair, London, is offering this prize to the winner of their Library of a Lifetime award in honor of their 80th anniversary.

Readers all around the world can enter the draw simply by submitting which book means the most to them and why. The only stipulation is that the book must be published in English after the year 1936, when Heywood Hill opened. A winner will be randomly selected on October 31.

According to the Guardian, Karin Scherer, senior bookseller at Heywood Hill, described the award as “an intellectual adventure of a lifetime.” Scherer also added it will allow the winner to “look forward to a lifelong relationship with our bookshop and our booksellers.”

Heywood Hill is known for their A Year in Books subscription, which offers the same service on a yearly basis, allowing bibliophiles to discover books hand chosen by a Heywood Hill bookseller, based on their individual tastes. The second place winner will win year-long subscription on a monthly basis, and the third place winner on a bi-monthly basis.

Do you have your favorite book ready to enter? Check out the submission form here.
