Following the success of its Toronto location, a second Harry Potter-inspired bar called The Lockhart is opening in Montreal this weekend.
The magical touches, though, are subtle. As Eater notes, The Lockhart does not explicitly refer to J.K. Rowling’s books in order to avoid trademark infringement. Instead, it takes a true Potterhead to notice the small nods to the bestselling series throughout the gastropub. For instance, The Lockhart is named for Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, Harry’s hopelessly vain second year Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.
Additionally, among the menu offerings, fans can enjoy “Better Beer,” a tequila, cinnamon, and toasted marshmallow cocktail, or down “The Befuddlement Draught,” a sweet, fruit-flavored cocktail. Food includes “Buttermilk Fried Horntail,” a chicken dish with spicy honey, and the very delightful-sounding “House Made Chocolate Frog.”
