Mark your calendars, Outlander fans! The Droughtlander is almost over because Starz has announced the Outlander season 3 release date. They’ve also shared the gorgeous new poster for the third season of the wildly popular time-traveling drama series based on Diana Gabaldon’s bestseller:

The new 13-episode season is based on Gabaldon’s Voyager, the third in her New York Times bestselling series. Starring Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall Fraser and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, the new season has Claire traveling back to her life in 1948 with her first husband, Frank (Tobias Menzies) and giving birth to Jamie’s baby, Brianna.

After her passionate romance in the 18th century, Claire must deal with her return to modern society and reconcile her love for Jamie and their child with the life she has with Frank. Jamie, who is dealing with the aftermath of the doomed battle of Culloden, has to find a way to go on without the love of his life.

The official art for the new season is heartbreakingly beautiful, demonstrating how the standing stones that brought Claire and Jamie together have now torn them apart. Claire is dressed in 1940s attire and stands with her hands pressed to the stone, and the opposite side stands a solemn, determined-looking Jamie.

The finale of season 2 of Outlander aired in July 2016, which seems like a lifetime ago to fans who have anxiously awaited the continuation of Claire and Jamie’s epic love story. Earlier this year, Starz President of Programming Carmi Zlotnik cited the immensity of the source material for the new season’s push to fall. Filmed in Scotland and Cape Town, South Africa, Outlander season 3 promises to be a beautiful and poignant experience for fans.

Starz will premiere season 3 of Outlander on September 10 at 8 p.m. EST.
