Watch the First Trailer for ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’

The first Fantastic Beasts 2 trailer has just been released, to the excitement of fans eagerly awaiting the next film in the thrilling Harry Potter spin-off. Watch the Fantastic Beasts 2 trailer below:

The sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald continues the story began in the first film. After magizoologist Newt Scamander collects the magical creatures who have spread all over 1920s New York, he encounters dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. This second film will focus on Newt and Professor Albus Dumbledore’s efforts to try to stop the powerful villain, who is gathering followers in his plan to have pure-blood wizards rule over non-magical beings.

Though this is the first teaser trailer for the sequel, we know some things about the upcoming film, including plot basics and the cast. According to J.K. Rowling, there will be a time jump between the first movie and this second one. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will also be primarily set in Paris. We’ll also get a sneak peek of Diagon Alley, where Newt will be signing his book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Eddie Redmayne will be back in the role of Newt Scamander, with Johnny Depp again playing the dark wizard Grindelwald. Other familiar faces to return include Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as her sister Queenie, Dan Fogler as No-Maj Jacob Kowalski, Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, Zoë Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, and Carmen Ejogo as Magical Congress of the United States President Seraphina Picquery.

New actors joining the franchise include Jude Law playing young Dumbledore and Brontis Jodorowsky as Nicolas Flamel, the man who created the Sorcerer’s Stone.

With a total of five planned movies in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, we can expect more magic and adventure in the wizarding world as the story unfolds.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will hit theaters on November 16.
